Blake had his 6 month well-baby checkup. the doctor said he’s a very healthy baby! he weighs 17 pounds 15 ounces (57th percentile) and is 28 inches long (92nd percentile). Ryan weighed a little over 19 pounds when he was a year old. i have a feeling Blake will be catching up to Ryan in the near future. overall, Blake is an extremely happy baby, and he usually sleeps through the night. i really can’t complain! still no teeth, but he’s been drooling like no other for over two months. i love his huge smile, crazy (sometimes curly) hair, and super rosy cheeks he gets while sleeping. his favorite thing to do is probably watch Ryan. Blake thinks Ryan is hilarious, no matter what he’s doing. it seems like he can’t wait to be able to do what Ryan is doing. it’s pretty cute. his second favorite thing is when Tim gets home from work. Blake’s face lights up when he hears Tim’s voice. he watches Tim’s every move, and gets so excited when he talks to him. looks like we have another daddy’s boy on our hands. :) some pictures from the last couple months:

Regnier Brothers Farms :)
Ryan called Grampa Jon, and told him, “i wanna go to the ranch!” so we did. :) the whole drive to Guadalupe, Ryan kept telling me that he wanted to see a tractor. Grampa showed him some tractors, and then took him for a little drive. Ryan was so proud of himself. he talked about how he got to drive a tractor for the rest of the day. i have a feeling we’ll be making another visit to the ranch very soon.

afternoon in Avila
Tim got off work a little early on Friday, so we took the boys up to Avila for what will hopefully be the first of many Friday afternoons spent there. we had an early dinner at the Custom House (my favorite). there was a band playing outside at Mr. Rick’s, so Ryan was in heaven. we sat around and watched Ryan run around and dance for awhile (the drunk hippies at the bar were entertaining, too), and then got an ice cream and walked on the pier. it was the perfect evening!

Ryan is 2!
Ryan turned two years old on February 26th. we had some family and friends over for a low-key “little man” birthday party.
Ryan had so much fun! Tim and i had so much fun watching Ryan have fun. :)
Ryan blew out his candle about six times because he kept saying, “one more time!” sure, why not?
at Ryan’s 2-year checkup, he weighed 26 pounds (24th percentile) and was 36 inches tall (90th percentile). they estimate he’ll be about 6’1”. pretty cool! Ryan is becoming quite the independent and opinionated little man. i hear a lot of: “i wanna do it!” “stop doing that!” “i don’t like this.” if this is the “terrible twos”, it’s really not that terrible. he’s still such a happy, sweet boy. i realize that i’m incredibly biased, but he’s also really smart and funny. almost everyday, he’ll say something that makes me go, “where the heck did you learn that?” he knows shapes such as the cylinder, and walks around saying things like, “did you fart?” never a dull moment with this guy. i sort of started a half-ass attempt at potty training. he likes to use the toilet because he gets a jelly bean, but he still wears diapers because i’m not ready to fully commit. i know, i’m sure i’m majorly screwing up and confusing him. oh well. he’ll figure it out sometime. he’s smart, right? at two years old, some of Ryan’s favorite things are:
